I know this might sound weird, especially to a non-religious person, but sometimes, God talks to me. Not in the loud booming voice or bright light, I've never seen a burning bush or any weird miracles, but nevertheless, God talks to me. Sometimes when I am praying and I take a moment to listen I can hear an answer or I'm doing the dishes at the end of the night in the quiet, or in the shower, or during a church service, or I am driving my car without my radio on and He talks... again, not in a "voice" but a feeling, a push (normally against my thoughts), or a thought that comes in from the side while my internal dialogue usually happens up and down. I don't expect that this makes sense to very many people, but it's true and has been tested again and again. It's a blessing and a curse.

So... tonight I was praying (whining really) about the upcoming election and my fear and depression that the guy I DON'T want to win will win, and God interjected ('cause I really wasn't listening) and reminded me of something that helped me a little... are you ready?

He is in charge. He is in control. The man He wants to run the good ole U.S. of A, will in fact be the man running America come January. So, I might not like His choice, but I have to believe that it IS His choice... and although it's still frightening, a little, (be careful what you wish for, America), Christians should still support in prayer whoever "The Man" is starting from the moment the results are tallied.

Although the last several presidents we have had have been disappointing for one reason or another, I still believe that God chose them. NOW... I still don't want to hear it if Obama wins and my republican friends start moaning about the end of America as we know it... just like I don't want to hear my democrat friends screaming about more Bush if McCain is elected.

HEY YOU... CHRISTIANS - remember!!!!!! God is in control. If either Obama or McCain becomes the next President, it doesn't change that - it will be okay. God might have something to teach us, or He might know what's going to happen and what kind of leader we need. God made Barack Obama... God made John McCain... just like He made you and me. Have a little faith... and I'll try too. ;)

  1. Daniel said, "Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. Daniel 2:20-21

Indeed, we always have reason to rejoice in the Lord, ALWAYS...
