ICMT Mondays! GIVEAWAY! Crochet flower!

Welcome to yet another ICMT Monday! Today I made something that took almost no time and is incredibly darling!!
First let me announce that the winner of last week's giveaway is CARYN from Team Kyte.  Email me and let me know what colors... I will even make you 2 for both your twins!  OR you can have two of these:
I made some more with the tip from Sue's comment.

I am loving trying new crafts every week.  Still waiting for more than 5 people to comment and get involved, but I can be patient.  Today, I tried another crochet project.  I was shopping around and found this blog post, which has a tutorial video on how to make little crochet flowers.  I thought... I can make that!

Here is the final effort.  I made one with the pattern from Little birdie Secrets and made a smaller one from a homemade pattern that goes like this:
A. Chain 4, Slip stitch into a circle.
B. Single Crochet 4 into the loop, slip stitch onto the first stitch (completing the center circle)
C. To make Petals: Chain 2, 3 Double crochet in stitch, Chain 2, slip stitch in same stitch, chain 2, slip stitch in next stitch.
Repeat step C 4 more times to make 5 petals. The above tutorial at Little birdie secrets will show you how to make the petals... they are exactly the same.
I layered, found a button that I liked, and sewed them all together.  My next step is attaching to a hair clip for Catherine's hair.. or I can clip the hair bow onto her little crocheted headband/ear warmer or onto a cute scarf.  I will be making at least one more for a GIVEAWAY!

If you would like to win, become a follower and leave a comment letting me know what colors you'd like!
If you grab my ICMT button and post it on your blog, and let me know and you'll be entered twice!!

  2. I'm a winner!!!!! Woo Hoo!
The flower is super cute, it would make a nice hair bow or a nifty book mark if it had a long knitted "stem". I am in awe because of all of the things I feel I can make - the whole yarn thing is not my area!
