55 Fiction Fridays - That morning

That morning

The house was quiet,
the sound of whispering started.

Then, the sound of
two sets of running footsteps

The door was thrown open
Bodies bounding onto the bed.

Woken suddenly from sleep.
Disoriented, the occupants tried to defend themselves.

Then, the yelling started.

It's CHRISTMAS!
GET UP! GET UP!
Santa came! Santa came!

If you have no idea what this was, let me introduce you to 55 fiction fridays.
It's fiction, in 55 words or less.  Go ahead.  Count it.

It's a fun activity and takes very little time.  I invite you to join me! Get creative!
The basic rules are this:

  1. Fifty-five words or less (A non-negotiable rule)
  2. A setting,
  3. One or more characters,
  4. Some conflict, and
  5. A resolution. (Not limited to moral of the story)
  6. The title of the story is not part of the overall word count, but it still can’t exceed seven words.

  4. We don't do Santa so I've never experienced this. I think it would be neat to see their excited little faces on Christmas morning.
