I am created in HIS IMAGE {Genesis 1:27}

Today's Verse:
So God created human beings in his own image.
    In the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

What better way to kick off the second part in this series (Our identity in Him) than acknowledging that the only reason we are beautiful, inside and out, is because we were created in the image of someone who is Beautiful, inside and out.

How humbling to think that I am created in the image of the creator God.

How awesome that He thought we were worthy to carry His image (nature, and more) and be a representation of Him to the earth.

How intriguing that I can look at my husband, kids, friends, and even those I don't love so well, and know that somehow, somewhere inside them, something about their person, is a representation of the Living God.

Talk about a mystery!

I look in the mirror sometimes and wonder how I take after my Abba (my Heavenly Daddy).

Is it in my laugh?  My creativity?  Do I look like him in my soul?
Is it in my compassion or the way I love my kids?

We do that with our own parents.  We look at pictures of them, we sometimes study them when we are with them and we see little glimpses of ourselves.  In those moments I feel secure.

When I notice that my dad and I have similar mannerisms, or I look at my mom's hair and notice how much mine looks like her's did when she was my age (minus the grays...). I feel like I belong.

I favor many of the traits of God that resonate with me.
He is so creative.  He made me that way too.
I think He likes to sing.  I do too.
He seems like He has a great sense of humor.  ME TOO!

How are you like Abba?  What are the traits in Him that you see in yourself?

  1. I love this. I'm wondering now how I resemble my Daddy. Gives me a new appreciation for the things I don't like so much about myself. Xoxo
