I am ETERNALLY BEAUTIFUL! {Ecclesiastes 3:11}

Day 17 of 31 days - Part 2

Today's verse: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)

He made EVERYTHING beautiful (in it's time).

Does that make ME beautiful?
Does that make YOU beautiful?

I suppose so.  He made everything beautiful.  In it's way.  So what does beauty look like??  I know that God doesn't see us the way the world does.

God doesn't care what size we are, I know He doesn't care about what color my hair is, I am sure that the size, shape, position of my eyes on my face is no big deal to Him.  He isn't going to shake His head at us if our lips aren't full enough, or if we have manicured nails.

So, what does God mean that He makes everything beautiful in its time?

A beautiful woman is a woman who is kind.
A beautiful woman is a woman who is compassionate.
A beautiful woman is a woman who is loving.
A beautiful woman is a woman who is gentle.

A beautiful woman is a woman who is learning about who she is in God.
As she learns, and internalizes those truths, she grows in her confidence that He designed her JUST like that (inside and outside) for her benefit.  Sometimes He gives us things we have to overcome (procrastination anyone?)  Sometimes He gives us skills we have to work at honing and sharpening.  Sometimes He gives us a great sense of humor to bring joy to others.  Sometimes He gives us a beautiful singing voice that He wants us to use to glorify Him.

He made us beautiful, and He made us ETERNAL.  We aren't food for worms.  That part of us that He made beautiful (our soul, our spirit) is eternal.   We live forever.  The essence of who we are continues to exist for all eternity.    Life here, with it's pain, illness, broken relationships, and tragedies is just temporary.

Yet with all of this, a soul that God Himself touched, formed, designed, created BEAUTIFUL, that will last for eternity, we still can't understand God and His timelessness.

He has done things that no one can fathom.  We can't even fathom the duration of our own life.

Yet, even without being able to fathom who God truly is, we can appreciate that He made us eternally beautiful, and I'll take it!

  1. This is one of my favorite verses. I am so thankful that He calls me beautiful, and is continually making me beautiful!

  2. Beautiful! I love the reminder that no matter what He created me and I am beautiful just the way he made me. Thanks for linking up last week. I'm featuring this post this week. Come back & link up again!

  3. I love this!! Reminds me of that verse where it says we are God's masterpieces (hold on... I have to look it up...) Ephesians 2:10 NLT. And this: "A beautiful woman is a woman who is learning about who she is in God." Such a huge deal!! When we discover who we are in God and find our identity in Him and not our mistakes, our past, our failures, or our struggles, THEN we can live confident of God's promises--again--HUGE DEAL! Love love this post! Got me all worked up this morning. Hahahaha. Praising God for knowing me, calling me beautiful, calling me a masterpiece, and giving me an identity worth having!
