Small - FMF

Life is sometime changed by BIG things.

Jobs change
People move
Friendships end
Marriages struggle
A friend fights and beats cancer
A loved one dies

Big things that take up big space in our minds and hearts.

What if it's not the big things that really change our lives?  Maybe because you find yourself in one of those BIG situations, you spend more time on the small things.

You stop and appreciate the beauty of your view.

You hold your child a little longer in your lap.  You read "one more book" and cuddle them close.  You laugh at the funny things they say and watch how their eyelashes make a shadow on their cheek.

Maybe you listen better when someone speaks.  You watch their lips move and hear the uniqueness of their voice because you suddenly realize how much you appreciate them and how short and fragile life really is.

Maybe you find yourself with time.  Time that a job used to take up and instead you spend that time taking care of your family, you clean and straighten and cook with a little more purpose, because for today, THIS is your job.

Maybe you appreciate the tan line made by your scuffed and scratched wedding ring, you run your thumb over the indent that the metal has made in your finger and you remember promises made.  You take the time to talk and listen more, because the small things count.  Those small things all add up to make the big things worth doing.

Even GOD cares about the small things... because we are loved in the big and small things.

Today, what are the big things that are taking up the most room in your mind and heart?
What small things can you do today to make a difference?

Luke 12:6-7
“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Psalm 84:3
Even the sparrow has found a home,And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young— Even Your altars, O LORD of hosts, My King and my God.
